Local authorities in Aden have implemented several administrative and social initiatives. The Southern Transitional Council (STC) inaugurated seven women’s centers in the Al-Tawahi district to increase female participation in social and national roles. Authorities have established 24/7 operations to process citizen complaints and will refer violators to the Industry and Trade Prosecution. Expanding these oversight efforts, Mahmoud bin Jaradi, the Director General of Sira District, conducted a field inspection of the local fish market alongside the Director of the Industry and Trade Office. The visit focused on monitoring compliance with official pricing to prevent price manipulation and monopolistic practices. During the same inspection, bin Jaradi reviewed local development projects, including the restoration of the Education Office building, which is funded by the European Union through UNESCO under a cash-for-work program. This project utilizes traditional materials like pumice and lime to preserve historical identity. Additionally, authorities inspected the rehabilitation of the central median on Queen Arwa Street, an initiative intended to improve the district’s urban landscape.
