Serbian javelin thrower Adriana Vilagoš achieved significant results in international competitions during September 2026. At the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, Vilagoš secured the gold medal with a sixth-round throw of 65.93 metres. The competition also saw Yulenmis Aguilar earn silver and set a new Spanish national record. Following this success, Vilagoš competed in the Diamond League finals at the Van Dam Memorial in Brussels. She finished in fourth place after a best throw of 62.22 metres in the fifth round. The gold medal in Brussels was won by China’s Ziji Jan, who set a meet record of 68.42 metres. The podium was completed by Haruka Kitaguchi of Japan and Flor Denis Ruiz Hurtado of Colombia.
