The second season of the animated spinoff series ‘Adventure Time: Side Quests’ is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on October 2, 2026. Initial reports confirmed the production by Cartoon Network Studios, noting the return of central characters and the original voice cast, including John DiMaggio as Jake the Dog and Sasha Knight as Finn the Human. The creative team features showrunner Nate Cash and various returning directors and composers. Subsequent updates revealed that the upcoming season will consist of 20 episodes. A released trailer describes the season as a “lighthearted and nostalgic continuation of the franchise,” focusing on character-driven comedy involving adventures such as wrestling toads and baby gladiators. Ahead of the premiere, showrunner Nate Cash and supervising director Victor Courtright discussed the franchise’s transition to Disney+ and Hulu, stating the move allows the brand to reach new audiences while maintaining its “original creative spirit.” The production team is reportedly experimenting with various animation styles, including a specific approach for a ‘Death Fiction’ episode. Additionally, creators noted they utilized the franchise’s extensive history to develop new storylines and characters, such as the introduction of Abrelton Danno.
