In Jinan, China, 110 Agibot Expedition A3 humanoid robots set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of humanoid robots dancing simultaneously. The performance involved synchronized jumps, flips, and formation changes facilitated by the company’s Linkbots group management platform and ultra-wideband positioning technology. Agibot noted that these were production models rather than modified prototypes. While the robots are intended for cultural, tourism, and educational uses, they are also being tested in subway systems to assist with crowd management, provide passenger information, and showcase local culture. According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chinese companies have developed over 400 humanoid robot models. Production reached more than 40,000 units in the first half of this year, with annual production expected to exceed 100,000 units. Expanding its practical applications, Agibot conducted a 24-hour live test in a Shanghai supermarket using six G2 humanoid robots. Under the initiative titled ‘Robots Never Clock Out’, the robots assisted staff during various peak periods, including lunch, evening, night, and breakfast rushes. Tasks performed by the robots included restocking shelves, making coffee, serving warm snacks, cleaning, and interacting with customers. Agibot currently holds a 35 percent market share in the industry with over 8,600 robots, and its technology is also utilized in the Chimelong Spaceship Park. A detailed breakdown of the Shanghai trial in the Xuhui district revealed that the six G2 robots performed 1,730 tasks, including greeting 683 customers and preparing 147 coffees. However, the trial highlighted technical limitations: while four robots met expectations, two failed evaluation. One robot failed to maintain stock rotation initiative, and another wandered away from the establishment after encountering a full trash bin during a night shift.
