Agro-industrial and economic development in Chihuahua

The state of Chihuahua is implementing various initiatives to promote its agro-industrial and economic sectors. Initially, the Secretariat of Rural Development (SDR) launched a call for local producers to participate in exhibition modules across Chihuahua and Ciudad Juárez. These modules, lasting 45 days, are designed to showcase local goods and facilitate commercial links between producers and potential distributors.

In September 2026, the state is hosting several major professional and tourism events. The Coparmex National Labor Forum is scheduled for September 18 at Expo Chihuahua, gathering international and national business leaders, including representatives from Google and the International Organisation of Employers, to discuss the evolving global work environment.

Simultaneously, on September 17 and 18, Expo Chihuahua will host the International Agro Expo and the 2026 Water Forum. These events focus on agricultural innovation, sustainable water management, and technological integration through specialized machinery and technical panels.

Complementing these economic efforts, the International Adventure Tourism Festival (FITA Chihuahua) will take place from September 4 to 6. Spanning the municipalities of Casas Grandes, Guerrero, Hidalgo del Parral, and San Francisco de Conchos, the festival features off-road vehicle routes, motorcycling gatherings, mountain biking, and triathlons to promote regional sports tourism and local economies.
