The development of artificial intelligence (AI) data center infrastructure is expanding through new power and connectivity solutions. In South Korea, LS Cable & System partnered with the AI Factory Frontier (AFF) consortium to provide integrated power infrastructure. This collaboration focuses on offering comprehensive solutions ranging from external power grids to internal distribution, utilizing a commercialized superconducting system designed to transmit high-capacity power using medium voltage to reduce the need for new substations. In the United States, infrastructure providers are addressing the density and reliability requirements of AI workloads. CommScope introduced the Rapid Fiber Connect platform, a plug-and-play system designed for ultra-dense environments using specialized GPU and Switch panels to simplify cabling. Additionally, Ziply Fiber completed a redundant fiber ring in Quincy, Washington, to provide the high-capacity, carrier-grade connectivity necessary for uninterrupted AI training and inference in the region. Expanding on these capabilities, LS Cable & System and LG CNS unveiled new technological solutions at the Data Centre World Asia 2026 event in Singapore. LS Cable & System introduced a ‘From Grid to Rack’ solution, expanding its business from bus ducts to the interior of server racks with new bus bars, connectors, and ultra-capacitors to manage power fluctuations. LG CNS presented a Prefabricated Modular Data Center (PMDC) approach, using standardized modules containing GPUs, servers, power, and cooling equipment to reduce construction time. Utilizing NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin GPUs, LG CNS is also offering modular units and GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) to support real-time AI learning and inference.
