The AI infrastructure and robotics sectors continue to see significant capital movement and strategic partnerships. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has confirmed the company is developing humanoid robots to create the “brain” for physical AI, noting that human shapes are ideal for interacting with a world designed for humans. Simultaneously, UK-based AI cloud provider Nscale is aggressively expanding its footprint. The company has committed at least $3.5 billion in computing power to the robotics startup Figure, with plans to deploy massive GPU clusters in Barstow, Texas, starting in late 2027. This deal, which could scale to over $6 billion, involves the acquisition of up to 100,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs. Nscale is currently pursuing an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol NSCL, targeting a valuation between $30 billion and $35 billion. While the company reported a 1,252% revenue increase to $140.6 million in the first half of 2026, it also recorded a net loss of $1.02 billion. Regulatory filings revealed that ByteDance, via its Singaporean subsidiary Spring (SG) Pte Ltd, was a major customer accounting for roughly 73% of Nscale’s 2025 revenue, utilizing 2,304 Nvidia B200 GPUs in Norway to access computing power outside of China. As of October 2026, Nscale is negotiating a second computing power agreement with Anthropic valued at approximately $45 billion. This proposed deal would focus on a second facility at the Monarch data center campus in West Virginia, providing 460 megawatts of capacity using Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips. Anthropic already holds existing infrastructure agreements with Nscale totaling roughly $44.6 billion. Investors have expressed caution regarding the high capital expenditures and debt loads required for such rapid expansion.
