Artificial intelligence is increasingly being integrated into various sectors of the Chilean economy, affecting both the labor market and industrial operations. In the professional sector, software development has emerged as one of the country’s top 20 most demanded roles. Data from the SENCE Employment Exchange Analysis System (SABE) indicates that while AI can generate code, there is a rising demand for human professionals capable of providing validation, supervision, and business understanding. Median salaries for these roles saw a 3.8% inflation-adjusted increase compared to 2025. Simultaneously, industrial and corporate entities are adopting AI and telemetry technologies. In the drilling sector, companies like AC Perforaciones are utilizing solar-powered telemetry to monitor equipment in real time to predict issues and improve worker safety. In the corporate sphere, CGS Nexus has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its AI Management System, focusing on governance, security, and human oversight for its oversight. Recent developments show expansion into specialized education and healthcare. In Talca, a diploma program focused on AI products for Sustainable Project Management—driven by Corfo, Universidad Autónoma de Chile, and services. Codesser—recently concluded, aiming to train professionals to integrate AI into regional productive processes. On a national level, authorities have signed an alliance to establish the National AI Sandbox in Health. Supported by Corfo’s Transforma Innovación en Salud program, this initiative will utilize 166,000 mammographies from 75,000 women in the public system to test algorithms for early breast cancer detection. The sandbox is designed to provide a secure environment for validating technologies without data leaving state custody, with full operations expected by the second half of 2027.
