AIL Milano Monza Brianza is commemorating 50 years of service dedicated to patients and research in oncological-hematological diseases. To mark this milestone, the association is organizing organized a reflection event in Milan on October 2 at the Istituto dei Ciechi. The event, titled “50 years alongside patients,” will feature featured testimonies from volunteers and patients alongside experts in care and research. During the commemoration, President Federica Fiorani emphasized the organization’s commitment to listening to patients' needs and providing timely responses. Since its founding in 1976, the organization association has managed various support initiatives, such as the “AIL Accoglie” program. This includes providing accommodation through 21 AIL Houses, which have facilitated over 240,000 overnight stays, as well as stays. The organization also provides medical transportation services services, having completed 23,300 trips since 2013, and psychological support. Since 2021, the association has provided 7,000 psychological support sessions at the San Raffaele Hospital and the National Cancer Institute. The organization continues to collaborate with medical staff, researchers, and hospital hematology departments to support healthcare efforts.
