In late July 2026 Air France, together with Extime Travel—a Groupe ADP tourism brand—rolled out a "Paris Stopover" service for passengers with long layovers at Paris‑Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports. The offering lets travelers extend a minimum 27‑hour connection for up to four nights, providing airport transfers, accommodation in selected four‑ or five‑star hotels, and curated city or family‑oriented activities such as tours of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre or a visit to Disneyland Paris. The program targets high‑spending tourists, citing a study that showed over 80 % of Air France’s transfer passengers would like to leave the airport, especially Brazilian and Indian travelers. A follow‑up note three days later added operational details: two Two main packages (city‑focused and Disneyland‑oriented) were priced from roughly €447‑€449 per person, with costs varying by hotel, dates and traveller count. The service is available to all fare classes and can be added up to 48 hours before departure. It is positioned within the "Connect France" partnership launched in June 2025, aimed at strengthening CDG as a European hub and boosting tourism spending in France. The launch coincided with a series of heat waves that have dampened Paris tourism. Hotel occupancy fell about 7 % compared with the previous year, and 91 % of tourism businesses reported revenue losses, reservation delays and tougher working conditions. Cultural sites such as the Louvre temporarily closed and several festivals were cancelled or restricted. City officials are considering extended opening hours in cooler venues and are looking to Athens and Spanish cities for climate‑adaptation models to mitigate the impact on future visitor numbers.
