The Airtech drone training program is expanding its educational footprint across Lithuania, providing instruction in the construction, programming, and piloting of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for students and adults. Initial developments focused on expanding reach in Jonava, where age-adapted curricula for grades 3 through 12 include basic operations, advanced FPV piloting, and 3D printing. The program also established a presence in Ukmergė through a partnership with the Lithuanian Non-formal Education Support Agency (LINEŠA) and the local municipality, targeting 150 students annually. The initiative has since grown to include a new center in Panevėžys, located in the regional STEAM center, which aims to train approximately 300 young people per year. This expansion makes Panevėžys the seventh Lithuanian city to host Airtech training, following Jonava, Tauragė, Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Plungė, and Ukmergė. The project is implemented by LINEŠA and receives support from the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Ministry of National Defence. In Plungė, a methodical drone training center has officially opened as the sixth facility in the network. A collaborative effort between LINEŠA, the Plungė District Municipality, and the Plungė School of Technology and Business, the center provides technological education for children and adults. The facility aims to train at least 100 students and 50 adults this year, focusing on skills applicable to agriculture, technology, and security. Local officials noted the center’s role in fostering technological advancement and national security preparedness, highlighting its relevance for professionals such as police officers and security service employees.
