The singer Al Bano is involved in a public family rift with his daughters, Cristel and Romina Carrisi. The tension became a matter of public discussion following Al Bano’s absence from his daughter Cristel Carrisi’s ten-year wedding vow renewal ceremony. Reports indicated that Cristel had made a deliberate decision not to invite her father due to ongoing conflicts involving his ex-wife, Romina Power. In subsequent media appearances, Cristel Carrisi confirmed that she and her father are no longer on speaking terms, citing “years of unresolved issues.” She stated that the breakdown in communication was triggered by Al Bano’s televised reaction to an interview given by Romina Power. Romina Carrisi also expressed distress regarding her father’s comments about her mother, highlighting the continued impact of these fractured family dynamics. During a recent interview on the television program Verissimo, the sisters provided further details on the silence, noting they have not spoken to their father for several months. Cristel reiterated that the distance was exacerbated by Al Bano’s televised outbursts regarding Romina Power. Romina Carrisi expressed disappointment in her father’s behavior and the impact of his public comments. The sisters also addressed the lasting trauma related to the loss of their sister, Ylenia, emphasizing that public figures should consider the well-being of their children before engaging in televised conflicts. Cristel further clarified her stance on the estrangement, stating that “gratitude cannot be a debt” that necessitates the acceptance of all his behaviors, emphasizing the necessity of a pause in their relationship.
