The Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) has taken steps to support local businesses and international trade capacity. Initially, ALTSO Chairman Eray Erdem advocated for the extension of Turkey’s foreign-exchange conversion support, which was scheduled to end on 31 July 2026. Erdem emphasized that the scheme is vital for exporters and the tourism sector, stating, “Bu uygulamanın devam etmesi, üretim, ihracat ve istihdamın desteklenmesi açısından büyük önem taşıyor” (The continuation of this application is of great importance for supporting production, export, and employment). Following these calls for financial and regulatory support, ALTSO launched the Foreign Trade Intelligence and Export Support Office. This new initiative is designed to strengthen Alanya’s global market presence by providing market research, training, and guidance on export documentation to help local firms navigate foreign trade complexities. President Erdem noted the office is intended to serve as a gateway for the local business community to reach global markets. Recent developments indicate positive economic trends in the region. The 3% foreign currency conversion support has been extended until January 2027, providing continued benefits to tourism and export-oriented firms. Additionally, the tourism sector has shown strength, with August performance surpassing previous months and strong reservation rates suggesting an extended season into the autumn.
