Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has initiated a series of strategic meetings to set the political agenda and review government performance. In August 2026, Rama convened Socialist Party leaders and ministers in Pogradec to introduce new administrative initiatives, including the ‘Besa’ and ‘Prania Besnike’ documents. These programs aim to improve the relationship between the state and citizens through increased empathy and service. Additionally, the government announced ‘Pasqyrë Albania’, a digital platform for citizens to track grievances in real time. By September 2026, follow-up meetings were held to review the progress of these initiatives. Officials reported an increase in hearings under the ‘Prania Besnike’ program, with 431 complaints recorded across regions such as Korçë, Vlorë, and Fier. ~~Following these domestic reviews, Prime Minister Rama scheduled~~ During a ~~trip~~ subsequent visit to the United States to participate in the United Nations General ~~Assembly and engage~~ Assembly, Rama met with the Albanian ~~diaspora.~~ community in Michigan. He described Albania as no longer just a place of survival but a ‘land of hope,’ suggesting that rising citizen expectations reflect a ‘new Albania.’ Rama emphasized the importance of the diaspora and reaffirmed the nation's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and European Union integration, aiming to conclude negotiations by 2027. He also noted domestic economic progress, including increased renewable energy use and reduced poverty, while confirming the continued implementation of the ‘Prania Besnike’ initiative.
