Federal prosecutors in New York have secured 30-year prison sentences for luxury real estate brokers Oren and Alon Alexander and their brother Tal Alexander. The sentencing follows their March convictions for sex trafficking and conspiracy involving the drugging and sexual assault of dozens of women across high-end locations, including the Hamptons, Manhattan, Aspen, Miami, and the Caribbean, between approximately 2001 and 2021. During the proceedings, U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni described the defendants’ conduct as “monstrous.” While prosecutors had argued for life sentences and defense attorneys had recommended 15-year terms, the judge ultimately imposed 30 years for each brother, noting that life imprisonment would be “draconian.” In addition to the prison terms, the court imposed 10 years of supervised release and mandatory sex offender treatment. The twins, Alon and Oren, were each fined $300,000, while Tal received a $350,000 fine. Judge Caproni indicated she would request the Bureau of Prisons evaluate housing the brothers in separate facilities to prevent mutual influence. Throughout the sentencing, the brothers maintained their innocence. Oren Alexander attributed his past behavior to growing up in a “hook-up culture,” while Tal Alexander expressed regret for the destruction of his career without admitting to the crimes. Evidence presented during the trial included a video of Oren Alexander assaulting an incapacitated 17-year-old girl in 2009. Approximately 12 victims addressed the court during the hearing, describing profound psychological trauma. Legal proceedings for the siblings continue. Oren and Alon face a separate criminal trial in Florida regarding sexual assault and battery charges stemming from incidents between 2016 and 2021. Additionally, all three brothers face dozens of civil lawsuits across multiple states.
