Judge Alexander Hold is returning to television with a new court show on Sat.1 after a 13-year hiatus. Filming for the first season, which is expected to consist of 50 episodes, began on August 26 at Bavaria Studios. The project is produced by Filmpool and includes a planned prime-time special. Since February 2026, the broadcaster has increased the frequency of the series, occasionally airing four consecutive episodes on weekdays. In addition to new episodes, the network has confirmed that the content will be available for streaming on Joyn. Following strong viewership for reruns, Sat.1 has scheduled the relaunch of the series, ‘Richter Alexander Hold’, for a new daily 6:00 PM timeslot beginning October 27, 2026. The comeback will be preceded by a primetime special film on October 26, 2026, titled ‘Richter Alexander Hold – Der Prozess seines Lebens’. This film focuses on the attempted murder of a businessman and its potential connection to a kidnapping from 16 years prior. The production features returning cast members, including prosecutors Christina Dissmann and Stephan Lucas and bailiff Frank Seelhoff. New additions to the legal team include defense attorney Matthias Klagge and lawyer Jana Jürgen.
