Following the unveiling of the Cuorerosso concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Alfa Romeo has provided further details regarding its design direction and upcoming product roadmap. The Cuorerosso serves as a technological manifesto, utilizing the ‘Bellezza Necessaria’ (Necessary Beauty) philosophy to prioritize driver-focused interiors and ‘Shy Tech’ over excessive digital screens. The 2+2 coupe features a low, wide silhouette, a modern Scudetto grille, a ‘Coda Tronca’ (truncated tail), and a digital ‘Cannocchiale Vivente’ instrument cluster. While the concept showcases a multi-energy approach—capable of supporting hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains—CEO Massimiliano Ficili has clarified that it is a conceptual guide rather than a preview of a specific production vehicle. Design chief Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos has further articulated this direction by rejecting the industry trend of oversized digital displays, which he criticized as a “war of centimetres” that can compromise dashboard creativity and become “costly, obsolete liabilities.” To avoid creating a “driving smartphone,” the brand is emphasizing the retention of physical buttons and dials for primary functions like climate control. The Cuorerosso illustrates this via its ‘Cannocchiale Vivente’ (Living Binoculars) system, which uses two circular displays that can merge into a single screen to show only essential information. Alongside the concept, the brand showcased the Perla Nera, a bespoke, one-off version of the 33 Stradale supercar created through the new Bottega Alfa Romeo atelier. This vehicle features a unique, hand-positioned exposed carbon-fiber body and retains the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Beyond these showcases, Alfa Romeo has signaled broader supercar. Broader updates to its lineup. Plans include a new C-segment vehicle, colloquially referred to as a ‘new Giulietta,’ expected to be a crossover utilizing the STLA One modular platform. Furthermore, the brand announced platform and 2027 model year updates for the Junior, Tonale, Giulia, and Stelvio. The Junior is slated for significant interior upgrades, Stelvio, including soft-touch door panels and enhanced technology packages featuring 3D navigation and adaptive cruise control. Other models will see the introduction of the new ‘Luna Rossa’ trim line and expanded customization options. line.
