Algeria is actively pursuing international economic diversification and increased foreign investment through targeted bilateral engagements. In discussions with the Algerian-Russian Business Council, officials identified several key sectors for potential Russian investment, including agriculture, energy, renewable energy, industry, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. These efforts included preparations for an ‘Algeria Day’ event to be held in Moscow alongside the Africa-Russia Summit and Economic Forum. Expanding on this outreach, Algeria also sought to broaden its cooperation with Norway. During the 15th Nordic-African Business Summit in Oslo, where Algeria was a guest of honor, officials promoted investment opportunities specifically in the agriculture and maritime fishing sectors to move beyond traditional energy-based partnerships. At the ‘Algeria Day’ event in Oslo, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries Sid Ali Khaldi further promoted these opportunities to strengthen commercial exchanges and food security. Algeria is also expanding its presence in digital and energy forums. At the Global Digital Forum in Moscow, High Commissioner for Digitalization Meriem Benmouloud presented the nation’s digital transformation strategy, focusing on digital sovereignty and artificial intelligence governance. Simultaneously, ministers Mohamed Arkab and Mourad Adjal participated in Energy Week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This included the 17th Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Forum and the 25th World Petroleum Congress, aimed at strengthening cooperation regarding energy security, market stability, and technological innovation.
