In early July 2026, Roberto Cidade began mobilising support in Manaus neighbourhoods, marking the start of a coordinated campaign. By late July, he amplified the effort with a gathering of more than 600 evangelical leaders in the Dom Pedro district, who publicly endorsed his pre‑candidacy and underscored the growing political weight of the state’s evangelical bloc. The event highlighted Cidade’s appeal to religious voters, with senior figures such as former governor Wilson Lima and councilwoman Thaysa Lippy in attendance. During the gathering, Cidade emphasized that family‑oriented values would guide his administration, stating, “I am here because I represent you… I leave this with a tranquil heart and the testimony of an Amazonian who believes in doing good for the people.” The campaign’s momentum continued into August. Manicoré mayor Lúcio Flávio do Rosário (PSD) announced his backing for Cidade, joining a roster of mayors and legislators supporting the governor‑candidate despite differing party affiliations. Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB‑AM) visited Borba, promoting the Estrada do Rosarinho road project and a new port initiative, linking infrastructure promises to the broader electoral strategy. By mid-August, Cidade intensified his activities in Manaus, presenting a government plan focused on expanding investments in health, education, and infrastructure, such as new hospitals and full-time schools. In a strategic move to bolster the ‘União Pelo Amazonas’ coalition, Cidade appointed former Manaus Vice-Mayor Marcos Rotta as his campaign’s general coordinator. In late August, Cidade continued his street campaigns in the Alvorada and Tarumã neighbourhoods.
