AMD introduced the Radeon RX 9050 on 29 July 2026 as an entry-level GPU for 1080p gaming, built on the RDNA 4 architecture. The standard 8 GB GDDR6 model features a 128-bit bus, 16 Compute Units, and a boost clock of up to 2.6 GHz, drawing approximately 92–100 W. It is priced at US $279. By mid-August, the rollout faced scrutiny due to restricted testing and regional availability. While the higher-end Radeon RX 9070 GRE reached European markets at a suggested price of 559 euros, the RX 9050 rollout lacked official review samples for Western media. The Australian channel Hardware Unboxed reportedly obtained a unit through unofficial channels after AMD allegedly instructed partners not to provide cards to independent testers. Primary launch markets include the United States, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region, notably excluding Australia and Korea. On 20 August, AMD released the Adrenalin 26.8.1 WHQL driver, providing official support for the RX 9050 4 GB model. This update includes optimizations for titles such as ‘Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy’ and ‘STAR WARS Zero Company’, and provides support for the ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Early Access’.
