In late July 2026 2026, Ancestry.com announced a major update to its global genealogy database, adding new record collections from locations such as Broken Hill (Australia), Bangor (Maine, USA), Lwów (Poland) and several counties in Wales, England and Scotland. The update also refreshed existing collections, including the England and Wales Register, Scottish and Northern Irish obituary indexes, and expanded Newspapers.com indexes for numerous U.S. states and districts, adding hundreds of millions of indexed records. During the first week of August 2026 2026, the company continued the rollout, introducing 7,630 free online Georgia collections organized into 24 categories and releasing a downloadable guide. Additional Card Catalog updates added U.S. school yearbooks (1900‑2016), (1900–2016), Baptist missionary and church records from Georgia, an Indiana marriage index, Scottish prison records, Edinburgh death warrants, Arkansas enemy‑alien enemy-alien registrations, Union deserter lists, and a Massachusetts newspaper index, among other datasets.
