State-level Anganwadi hiring drives continued through late July and into August 2026. Early notifications from Telangana (Jogulamba Gadwal: 73 posts, 29 June–8 July) and Uttar Pradesh (Meerut: 180 worker posts, 27 June–17 July) added to the nationwide effort. In July, Telangana’s Sangareddy district announced 246 posts, while Nizamabad released notices for 179 vacancies. Medchal-Malkajgiri district later opened applications for 62 teacher positions through 5 August. Karnataka’s Yadgir district launched a drive for 232 posts (61 workers and 171 helpers) running from 24 July to 24 August. Recruitment in Uttar Pradesh expanded significantly in August. Kushinagar opened 245 worker positions with applications accepted until 19 August, while Etawah announced 102 honorarium-based worker vacancies with a deadline of 30 August. In mid-August, Muzaffarnagar announced 146 vacancies for Anganwadi Karyakartri, with applications open from 13 August until 2 September 2026. Additionally, Chitrakoot released a notification for 92 positions (23 workers and 69 helpers), with applications open until 5 September 2026. By late August, recruitment efforts in Uttar Pradesh included 223 positions in Jhansi for female candidates with a minimum 12th-pass qualification. Other districts involved in ongoing processes include Kanpur, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Prayagraj. Selection for these roles is based on merit lists derived from educational qualifications rather than written exams or interviews. In Odisha, the Women and Child Development Department released a notification for two Anganwadi worker vacancies in Khalipathar and Doromunda. Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old with at least a +2 qualification, with a deadline of 3 September 2026. By the end of August, new vacancies emerged in Telangana, where the Department of Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare opened applications for 125 Anganwadi Teacher positions across seven ICDS projects in the Rangareddy District.
