Angola has reported significant progress in its national anti-corruption efforts and public infrastructure development. The National Strategy for the Prevention and Repression of Corruption (ENAPREC) reached an execution rate exceeding 90 percent, focusing on prevention through official training, detection via new reporting mechanisms, and repression through asset recovery. Authorities have focused on reclaiming assets linked to criminal activities across international jurisdictions, including Portugal, Switzerland, Cyprus, and Luxembourg. While early reports noted approximately $3 billion under discussion internationally, President João Lourenço later reported during his State of the Nation address that investigations between 2022 and 2026 resulted in the seizure and arrest of assets totaling roughly $13 billion. The government is also working to repatriate approximately €900 million from Switzerland and $500 million from Singapore to fund public investment. Parallel to these economic measures, the administration has expanded the national healthcare system. Between 2017 and early the first quarter of 2026, the construction of 736 sanitary units increased the total number of health units to 3,348, with a focus on 3,348. This network includes 3,093 primary care infrastructure. posts and 172 municipal hospitals, with over 80% of new infrastructure dedicated to primary care. Furthermore, the administration highlighted the success of port concessions in Lobito and Luanda. These concessions have reportedly generated $380 million in state revenue and attracted $1.3 billion in guaranteed investment commitments.
