Angola has launched initiatives to promote its cultural sector as both an artistic celebration and an economic driver. The ELA – Espaço Luanda Arte is presenting the second edition of the “Luzes de Angola” collective exhibition, which showcases contemporary artists spanning five decades of creation since national independence to connect established pioneers with emerging talents. Additionally, the first edition of Expo Cultura Angola 2026 was launched in Luanda. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Grupo Arena, the event is scheduled for November 5–8. The initiative aims to professionalize creative industries to foster job creation, innovation, and GDP contribution. While some cultural associations have raised questions regarding investment transparency and financial returns, organizers state the fair will serve as a platform for business and economic diversification. In late August, Luanda’s cultural activity expanded to include visual arts circuits, concerts celebrating Angolan roots, and family-oriented theater, alongside various regional events across Angola, Portugal, and Brazil.
