Animal welfare authorities in Mexico have engaged in various rescue and health initiatives. In Puebla, the State System for Integral Family (SEDIF) through its Animal Welfare Directorate (DIBA) rescued two dogs from neglect and malnutrition in the Guadalupe Caleras neighborhood, transferring them to a clinic for medical treatment. Simultaneously, in Ciudad Juárez, the Animal Care and Welfare Directorate (DABA) has implemented community outreach and health campaigns. These efforts include the sterilization of 495 pets, the application of 245 microchips, and 150 rabies vaccinations. The department also held activities for World Rabies Day to promote responsible pet ownership and provide free vaccination services. Expanding on these regional efforts, Xalapa has administered over 3,200 vaccines across various neighborhoods. In Isla Mujeres, a campaign was launched to reach both insular and continental zones to promote responsible pet ownership and public health. Recent data indicates a significant scale-up in veterinary actions within Mexican municipalities. Pachuca has completed over 25,000 free veterinary actions, which includes 7,700 sterilizations and 17,400 rabies vaccinations. Ciudad Juárez has also expanded its reach through the implementation of mobile services for sterilization, microchipping, and vaccination.
