Anthropic Claude platform updates

In late July, Anthropic announced that its Claude Cowork platform would support a new plugin extension bundle, adding a suite of knowledge‑work plugins and a customizer for organizational settings. At the same time, the company removed more than 80% of the system prompt used by Claude Code for the Claude Opus 5 and Fable 5 models, reporting no loss in coding performance and encouraging developers to rely on the model’s built‑in reasoning. A week later, Anthropic released a detailed integration guide for the PushEngage MCP server, enabling users to run push‑notification workflows directly from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Cursor. The guide covers installation, environment variables, login, and troubleshooting. The same update also addressed a Windows‑specific CLI issue that prevented Claude Code from launching Claude Desktop, providing a fix that creates a version‑specific folder and verifies the MSIX registry key. By mid-August, Anthropic expanded Claude Cowork with a beta Chrome extension that allows the assistant to operate within the browser side panel. This extension enables Claude to interact with active web pages by navigating sites, filling out forms, and extracting data across multiple tabs. Additionally, the company introduced cloud-based session synchronization across desktop, web, and mobile devices. These cloud sessions can continue running on Anthropic’s infrastructure even if a user’s device is offline. These new features are currently available to Max and Team plan subscribers, with Pro plan access expected at a later date. On August 16, Anthropic expanded Claude AI capabilities through new connectors that allow the assistant to interact with Google Workspace applications, including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar. On paid plans, Claude can now draft and send emails, though users can opt to require manual approval for these actions.
