Following an August 1 Major League Soccer match between CF Montreal and the New England Revolution, an investigation was launched into reports of antisemitic abuse directed at striker Dor Turgeman. Witnesses reported that Turgeman was subjected to chants of “Death to Israel” and had objects thrown at him during the game at Saputo Stadium. In response to the investigation, CF Montreal implemented disciplinary measures, including banning two fans and indefinitely suspending the privileges of a specific supporter section. The club also suspended all official supporter group privileges for a match against D.C. United. The club noted that the banned individuals were also responsible for throwing objects and violating the MLS Fan Code of Conduct. CF Montreal issued an apology to the New England Revolution and emphasized that “antisemitism, racism, and hate of any kind have no place” at the club or its stadium. To prevent future incidents, the organization is working with local Jewish community organizations to strengthen anti-discrimination initiatives, which include expanded in-stadium education and enhanced security measures.
