APC women's campaign mobilization in Nigeria efforts for Tinubu re-election
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Women Campaign Council in Abuja. The initiative, themed ‘Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity’, consolidates over five hundred independent women’s support groups into a single structure to coordinate campaigns for various levels of government. The council aims to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. Dr. Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilization for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, stated that the mobilization efforts seek to secure 40 million votes to ensure the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima remain in office until 2031. During the launch, officials highlighted administration achievements such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), and various infrastructure projects, including the construction of over 2,700 kilometers of highways. Expanding these mobilization efforts, the APC announced a major political rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, scheduled for October 10, 2026. Organized by the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, the event is intended to demonstrate regional support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Senator Oluremi Tinubu is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour. The Nasarawa State Police Command has urged political parties to suspend other rallies scheduled for that day, citing security concerns. The command stated the request is intended to ‘prevent clashes between rival supporters, avert security breaches, and ensure the safe movement of the First Lady and other dignitaries.’
