The Ahmet Piriştina City Archive and Museum (APİKAM), under the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, is expanding its educational offerings through various training programs. In late 2026, the museum announced basic-level Ottoman Turkish seminars designed to teach the fundamental characteristics of the language, allowing participants to read printed texts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This 12-week course is scheduled to run from October 6 to December 24. Additionally, APİKAM is launching City History and Culture Trainings for students in grades 4 through 7 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Running from October 6, 2026, to June 10, 2027, this program utilizes workshops, visual stories, and exhibition tours to increase awareness of cultural heritage. These training sessions are provided free of charge to help children connect with the city’s cultural history.
