Aprilia Racing has implemented a new competitive strategy for the 2026 MotoGP season, allowing Trackhouse Racing riders to compete openly against factory riders. President Massimo Rivola stated that all four riders using the RS-GP are considered “title candidates,” provided they do not obstruct the team’s broader success. This strategic shift follows a period of increased performance, highlighted by Raúl Fernández’s victory at the British Grand Prix. This win marked the fourth Grand Prix victory for an Aprilia rider during the season, following wins by Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martín, and Ai Ogura. ~~Following these successes,~~ Rivola reaffirmed the manufacturer’s ambition to pursue the 2026 world title, citing the competitive strength of their machinery and the momentum gained from recent performances. To sustain this momentum, Aprilia is currently managing a dual-track technical development strategy. The team is simultaneously refining the current RS-GP to maintain competitiveness and developing a new 850cc bike to meet 2027 technical regulations. Team manager Paolo Bonora described the intense workload, noting the team is working “eight days a week, 25 hours a day” to balance these projects. Recent technical updates, such as a new rear wing version introduced at the Aragon Grand Prix, aim to improve performance and stability as the team faces stiff competition from Ducati and championship leader Jorge Martin.
