Arab region sustainability and CSR recognition

The 19th cycle of the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards, organized by the Arabia CSR Network, recognized various organizations across the Arab region for their leadership in ESG and sustainable development. Dr. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Founder & CEO of the Arabia CSR Network, noted that the focus of sustainability has moved toward demonstrating “measurable impact through evidence-based results” in areas such as governance, resource management, and emissions.

Among the recipients, the Football Players' Friends Association earned first place in the ‘Social Enterprise’ category and second place in ‘Partnerships & Collaborations’. Chairman Majed Abdullah stated the recognition reflects the development of institutional work and the impact of effective partnerships in community services.

In addition to CSR recognition, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) held the 14th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST). The Greater Amman Municipality in Jordan was awarded $100,000 for its Bus Rapid Transit system, which serves 73.9 million passengers. The RTA also provided Dh240,000 in cash prizes to six student projects in the UAE centered on sustainable transport innovations.
