The German reality gameshow ‘Werwölfe - Das Spiel von List und Täuschung’, an adaptation of the French social game ‘Les Loups-garous de Thiercelieux’, is returning to the broadcaster ARD for a second season. Following a successful first season that received the German Entertainment Award, the new season features 15 non-celebrity contestants, including a lawyer, a police officer, a psychologist, and a former secret agent. This season introduces new elements such as a witch and a ‘wolfhound’ role, alongside quests for special roles. The series is narrated by Michael Kessler and is being released in batches via the ARD Mediathek throughout September and October. Recent data indicates significant viewership growth for the second season, which reached 3.3 million views within its first 17 days. This represents a 20 percent increase compared to the same period for the first season. Total views across both seasons in the ARD Mediathek have reached nearly five million. The show is also seeing high engagement on social media and YouTube, including a ‘Creator vs. Cast’ video with approximately 600,000 views. The format is produced by ITV Studios Germany on behalf of BR, SWR, and WDR, with Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) leading production.
