Argentina is implementing several public health initiatives focused on cardiovascular health and emergency response. During the Week of Sudden Death Awareness and Prevention, various regions have conducted intensive training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED). These programs have targeted police cadets in Neuquén, sports clubs in San Salvador, and community workshops in Tolhuin and Corrientes. Parallel to these training efforts, the Ministry of Health has mandated the reporting of stroke and decompensated heart failure cases within the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS 2.0). This policy requires all public and private medical professionals to report confirmed cases to improve epidemiological surveillance and resource allocation. The stroke registry aims to monitor incidence and the effectiveness of hospital mortality rates, while heart failure surveillance focuses on hospitalizations and readmissions to address high mortality and long-term disability. Expanding on these prevention efforts, Hospital Padilla in Tucumán, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and the Faculty of Medicine, is scheduled to host a prevention day on September 10. This event will provide adults with measurements for blood pressure, weight, height, and waist circumference to identify early risk factors such as obesity and hypertension.
