In late July 2026 the municipality of Concordia renewed its cooperation pact with the local citrus growers' association to maintain permanent surveillance for Huanglongbing (HLB) and related pests, coordinating with the national agricultural health service (SENASA). Around the same time, Mexican officials in Campeche trained producers on early detection of the Asian citrus psyllid, the HLB vector. In early August 2026 the government of Entre Ríos province extended its collaboration agreement with citrus industry bodies for a year‑long monitoring program aligned with the national HLB control plan. On 5 August 2026 Entre Ríos signed a new agreement, effective 1 August 2026 through 31 July 2027, signed by Economic Development Minister Guillermo Bernaudo, Citrus Federation president Pablo Molo and Exporters’ Chamber head Enrique Yelín. The same day the provincial Senate approved the extension, formalising updated work plans for the districts of Federación and Concordia. The pact continues systematic sampling of insect vectors and plant material, laboratory confirmation through SENASA, and technical training for producers, while encouraging the formation of producer groups to coordinate control actions. The Senate also honoured musician Emanuel Noir with the title of Citizen Illustrious, a separate cultural initiative. These coordinated steps illustrate an expanding, province‑wide effort to curb HLB across Argentina’s citrus regions.
