In late July 2026 Argentine police intensified a nationwide crackdown on motorcycle theft, armed robbery and related crimes. On July 24 officers seized a stolen Honda Wave in Concepción del Uruguay and confiscated disassembled parts of a Honda Storm in a vacant lot, launching investigations to trace ownership and criminal links. Six days later, on July 30, police in Tucumán arrested two men who had intercepted a student, recovered the stolen motorcycle, the victim’s backpack and school supplies, and highlighted the importance of prompt victim complaints. The same day officials reported a broader wave of thefts, armed robberies and weapons seizures across several provinces, including arrests of minors for robbery in Plaza Laprida, a 36‑year‑old for aggravated robbery in Córdoba, and the seizure of multiple firearms in Santa Fe and Río Grande. A coordinated operation also led to the capture of a murder suspect linked to a robbery and the detention of a woman threatening a neighbour with a weapon in Córdoba.
