In late October 2026, Argentina implemented several adjustments to social security and public sector compensation. The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) updated pension and unemployment benefits based on the September Consumer Price Index. Under these changes, the minimum pension reached $444,023.73, which, when including a $70,000 extraordinary bonus, totaled $514,027.73. Unemployment benefits for eligible workers were set at up to $383,800. Simultaneously, provincial governments enacted salary increases for public sector employees. In Formosa, a 5% increase was applied to October payments as part of a larger 15% hike, establishing a guaranteed minimum net salary of $1,200,000. In Buenos Aires province, police personnel received a 6% salary increase distributed across October and November, following wage agreements reached by the provincial administration. Further adjustments were formalized in other provinces. In Entre RĂos, Governor Rogelio Frigerio signed a decree for a 3.5% salary increase for provincial employees, retroactive to September 1, excluding teaching staff. This measure updated minimum wage floors, including $792,720 for general administrative roles and $1,023,566 for nursing. In Misiones, authorities confirmed that active workers would receive increases on October 31, while retirees and pensioners are scheduled to receive their adjustments in November.
