In this case, the insurer OSDE offered Trixacar, a locally produced medication authorized by ANMAT that contains the same active ingredients as Trikafta. The Court noted that while Law 27.552 guarantees coverage for cystic fibrosis treatments, the Executive Branch had vetoed provisions that would have prevented the substitution of medications prescribed by physicians. The decision emphasizes that regulatory frameworks allow health authorities to define the scope of coverage within the official medication basket.
