As the 30th Feria Internacional de Turismo (FIT 2026) approaches, scheduled for September 26–29 at La Rural in Buenos Aires, preparations are intensifying across various Argentine regions. Tourism Secretary Daniel Scioli expects the event to be the largest in the fair’s history, featuring over 350 exhibitors and 60 countries, with the Dominican Republic as the guest country of honor. Tierra del Fuego is finalizing its participation within the Ente Patagonia stand, which includes the Fueguino Tourism Institute, the provincial Tourism Chamber, and approximately 50 local service providers. The delegation will include representatives from Ushuaia, Tolhuin, and Río Grande. To strengthen commercial ties, the province will host business rounds prior to the fair, connecting 55 local providers with over 140 operators from Buenos Aires. These sessions will also address air connectivity with representatives from Aerolíneas Argentinas, JetSMART, and GOL. Beyond the fair, Tierra del Fuego is advancing the update of its Sustainable Tourism Strategic Plan. This process involves technical teams and consultants working with local stakeholders in Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia, specifically focusing on the development and planning of the Tierra Mayor Natural and Landscape ~~Reserve.~~ Reserve to establish a long-term roadmap for the province. The Dominican Republic, named the Guest of Honor for FIT América Latina 2026, will utilize a 400-square-meter space in the international sector to showcase its beaches, gastronomy, music, and culture. Other regional efforts continue to expand, including El Calafate’s glacial showcases, the Punilla Regional Community’s focus on astrotourism, Mendoza’s commercial missions to Brazil, and La Pampa’s enotourism promotion. Following the decision of the Buenos Aires province not to participate, the city of Junín will maintain its own dedicated stand.
