The 30th Feria Internacional de Turismo (FIT 2026) concluded at La Rural in Buenos Aires after running from September 26 to 29. The event featured over 1,900 exhibitors from 62 countries and aimed to attract more than 150,000 visitors through specialized sectors like FIT Tech, FIT Food & Market, and FIT Outdoor. During the fair, several Argentine provinces focused on professionalizing the meetings and events industry. Jujuy and Entre Ríos signed cooperation agreements with the Argentine Association of Organizers and Providers of Exhibitions, Congresses, Events and Convention Bureaus (AOCA). Other provinces utilized the platform to showcase regional identity: Chubut presented protected areas, Chaco highlighted natural and cultural identity, and Catamarca engaged in diplomatic meetings. Participants such as Pinamar, Villa María, Neuquén, Belén, and Goya promoted regional gastronomy, festivals, and landscapes. Regional highlights included Tierra del Fuego promoting its ‘Ruta del Fuego’ project, Río Negro showcasing landscapes from the Andes to the Atlantic, and Río Grande focusing on its Malvinas identity. La Pampa emphasized federal management and environmental concerns, while Santa Fe emphasized its capacity to host large-scale sporting and cultural events. International participation was significant. Cuba received special recognition for its continuous participation since 1996, with representatives noting the impact of United States blockade restrictions. Florianópolis, Brazil, engaged with major Mercosul operators, honoring the top 40 tourism companies from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Additionally, the Puerto Plata Destination Tourism Cluster and ASHONORTE promoted Dominican Republic offerings through more than 10 companies, including Iberostar Costa Dorada and Viva Resorts. The Sánchez Ramírez province in the Dominican Republic also utilized the event to launch its fourth Festur, promoting ecotourism to diversify its economy beyond mining. Industry leaders reported a 56% increase in business meetings compared to the previous year, with a final attendance of over 143,000 visitors.
