A month later, following Argentina’s progression to the World Cup final, the Argentine Football Association ordered a nationwide tribute to the 26 World Cup players. At an Estudiantes‑Independiente league match, a banner thanked the squad for uniting the country and a minute of applause was held, reflecting the formal recognition of the team’s achievement by football authorities and the continued public support.
