Following the investigation into the altercation between Argentina and Spain, FIFA issued penalties against the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and several individuals. The AFA was fined $321,000 and ordered to play its next two home matches at 50% stadium capacity due to security issues, discriminatory fan behavior, and the display of a “Las Malvinas son Argentinas” banner after the semifinal win over England.
