Regional public health programs in Argentina have expanded the distribution of free eyeglasses to residents and students. In the San Juan province, the ‘Te Veo Bien’ program, led by Governor Marcelo Orrego, has conducted multiple deployments. Following an initial delivery of 1,050 pairs in the San Martín department, a subsequent territorial deployment in the 9 de Julio department distributed over 700 pairs of eyeglasses to more than 580 residents, including children, adults, and seniors. This initiative includes free ophthalmological exams and custom-made lenses. In the Tigre district, the ‘Para Verte Mejor’ program distributed 74 pairs of glasses to primary school students in El Talar and Benavídez, having provided more than 900 pairs throughout the year. In Chaco, the national program ‘Ver para Ser Libres’ has reached over 500 children and adolescents, with officials aiming to distribute up to 13,000 pairs province-wide. In the Province of Buenos Aires, the ‘Ver Para Aprender’ program, supported by the Fundación Banco Provincia, has facilitated distribution in municipalities such as Bragado and Malvinas Argentinas. In Florencio Varela, authorities provided free vision checks and glasses to students and adults facing economic difficulties. Additionally, the ‘Para Verte Mejor’ municipal program in Malvinas Argentinas has completed over 5,500 controls and distributed 1,000 pairs of glasses this year. Recent community efforts have expanded to General La Madrid and Las Martinetas, where the Visión Comunitaria initiative will conduct visual graduation controls on October 14 and 15. In América, the Fundación Banco Provincia program ‘Ver para seguir aprendiendo’ will offer services for individuals over 13, with registration scheduled for October 13 at the Palacio Municipal in Rivadavia. Newer developments include the ‘Crecer Sanos’ program in La Rioja, which has evaluated 16,000 students and noted a rise in myopia attributed to excessive screen use.
