Argentine Torneo Clausura football matches

During the Torneo Clausura, several matches resulted in draws. In the Clásico del Sur, Lanús and Banfield played to a 1-1 draw at the Florencio Sola stadium. Banfield took an early lead through Adrián Balboa, but captain Carlos Izquierdoz scored the equalizer for Lanús with a header from a Matías Sepúlveda corner. The match involved significant tension and crowd disturbances, including an incident where Izquierdoz was struck in the forehead by a thrown lighter and a pyrotechnic device was detonated near goalkeeper Nahuel Losada.

In a separate fixture, Belgrano and Barracas Central drew 2-2 at the Julio César Villagra stadium. While Lucas Passerini scored both goals for Belgrano, the match was marked by officiating controversy involving referee Bryan Ferreyra. After initially announcing five minutes of stoppage time, Ferreyra added an additional minute before the play that allowed Nicolás Demartini to score an equalizer for Barracas Central. Following the match, Esteban Rolón and Demartini provided the goals for Barracas Central, while Passerini criticized the decision, stating that the extra time felt like a “theft of their effort.”

Argentinos Juniors secured a 2-1 victory against Atlético Tucumán at the Monumental José Fierro stadium. Matías Giménez and an own goal by Clever Ferreira provided the visitors with a two-goal lead in the first half. Atlético Tucumán scored a late consolation goal via an Alexis Canelo penalty, but finished the match with ten men after Luciano Vallejo received a second yellow card. This win places Argentinos Juniors in second place in Zone B with 31 points, keeping their championship hopes alive alongside Boca Juniors. The defeat mathematically eliminates Atlético Tucumán from playoff contention.

Platense defeated Central Córdoba 2-0 with goals from Guido Mainero and Víctor Cuesta, keeping their mathematical chances of reaching the playoffs alive.
