Casting for Ari Aster’s upcoming A24 film, ‘Scapegoat’, has expanded through late September 2026. Initially, Jude Law was announced to join Scarlett Johansson and Jacob Elordi in the project. Subsequent updates confirmed that Ella Purnell, Caleb Landry Jones, and Samba Schutte have also joined the cast. While specific character details remain undisclosed, reports indicate the mystery suspense film follows a surgeon whose reputation collapses after a routine procedure results in the death of a high-profile digital influencer. The narrative is expected to explore themes of internet outrage and public lynching. Aster is writing, directing, and producing the film alongside Lars Knudsen through their Square Peg banner, with A24 handling distribution. Filming is scheduled to occur in New York from November 2, 2026, to January 14, 2027.
