Ariana Grande concludes tour, ~~announces indefinite~~ enters hiatus

Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album, *Petal*, is slated for release on 31 July 2026, supported by the physically demanding Eternal Sunshine Tour that began on 6 June. The show blends new songs with earlier hits, featuring elaborate costumes, aerial segments and cinematic interludes that explore trauma, memory erasure and personal growth. After a tearful thank‑you on 16 June at Crypto.com Arena, the tour continued with surprise reunions, but safety concerns forced the postponement of three North‑American dates on 30 June. The North‑American leg closed with three Chicago shows (3, 5, 6 August) and a ten‑night residency at London’s O₂ Arena, ending on 1 September. Grande concluded the 41-date tour with an emotional final performance at the O₂ Arena, describing the experience as “one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.” To accommodate a “minor injury” involving a “deep cut” on her foot, she performed the final shows in platform boots rather than her signature high heels. The tour ended with a cinematic exit involving a spacecraft set piece. The Eternal Sunshine Tour grossed $107.9 million across 41 arena shows, selling 638,000 tickets. Despite being shorter than previous tours, it achieved higher nightly averages of approximately $2.6 million per show, with the North American leg totaling $80.2 million. Grande noted the injury to her foot was not a muscular issue or sprain but required bandaging and more comfortable footwear to manage discomfort. Following the tour, Grande announced a planned hiatus from public-facing work and appearances to prioritize her personal life, family, and health. While her team cited the need to step away from “constant social scrutiny,” Grande has maintained that the hiatus is an empowered, pre‑planned choice.
