Nadir Rossi, a former nurse, has been arrested in connection with the June 2024 death of his wife, Jessica Dalla Chiara, in Bussolengo, Italy. Prosecutors allege that Rossi used his medical knowledge to administer non-therapeutic doses of insulin to Dalla Chiara, causing fatal hypoglycemic crises. Investigators suggest the motive was to collect a 100,000 euro life insurance payout. To avoid an autopsy that might reveal the cause of death, Rossi allegedly orchestrated the rapid cremation of the body and misled others regarding the family’s consent for the procedure. Authorities also noted that Rossi reportedly attempted to alter a suicide note on the victim’s phone to conceal an extramarital affair. Evidence cited in the case includes Rossi’s online searches concerning toxicology and hypoglycemia prior to the death, as well as clinical assessments confirming the victim had no history of diabetes. Rossi faces multiple charges, including premeditated murder, attempted murder, insurance fraud, and the concealment of a corpse. Recent developments indicate the investigation was triggered by post-mortem laboratory results from the Verona Integrated University Hospital, which suggested the victim’s hypoglycemia was caused by external insulin administration. Investigators now believe a prior attempt occurred on May 22, 2024, when the victim suffered a cardiac arrest following an insulin injection that induced a pharmacological coma. During a recent interrogation in Verona, Rossi exercised his right to remain silent. A judge denied a request from his legal team for house arrest, which was sought to allow him to be near his four-year-old daughter.
