Recent reports highlight significant art and valuables thefts in Italy.

In one instance, Italian Carabinieri recovered a collection of three paintings valued at over 9 million euros that had been stolen from the Magnani Rocca Foundation near Parma. The works, including pieces by Paul Cézanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Henri Matisse, were found hidden in a television box during an investigation into nine Moldovan citizens. The theft involved suspects using a smoke screen to distract a caretaker.

Separately, a targeted burglary occurred at the Rome residence of art historian Donella Bossi Pucci. Thieves reportedly bypassed an alarm system to steal jewelry, precious items, and various artworks from two safes. Investigators noted the precision of the 15-minute crime, suggesting the perpetrators may have had prior knowledge of the residence.

Newer reports indicate a broader trend of high-value thefts targeting scientific and cultural assets. Researchers from Inaf, CNR, and the University of Florence reported the loss of approximately 50,000 euros worth of scientific equipment following a solar eclipse observation mission in Spain.

In Rome, additional thefts targeting tourists have been reported, including the loss of 30,000 euros in luxury goods from a van and 100,000 euros worth of designer bags near the Colosseum. Other incidents include the theft of cultural heritage pieces from a museum in Messina and burglaries in Cervinara.
