Artist Company legal dispute over breach of trust
Overview
Artist Company, an entertainment agency co-founded by actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, has initiated legal action against five former employees, including a former non-registered executive. The company filed criminal complaints with the Gangnam Police Station alleging occupational breach of trust and suspected embezzlement.
Following internal audits and investigations conducted with an external law firm, the estimated damages are approximately 681.76 million KRW. The company noted that while these figures are not final, the amount represents about 1.49% of the company’s equity as of the end of 2025. The legal proceedings follow an initial disclosure of suspected misconduct in September.
The situation coincides with the recent resignation of co-founder Jung Woo-sung from his position as an internal director on October 2. Despite his resignation from the board, Jung maintains a 10.99% ownership stake and remains affiliated with the agency as an actor.
