The legal and personal dispute between Ashley St. Clair and Elon Musk has intensified following St. Clair’s public acknowledgment of their son, Romulus, in late 2024. St. Clair alleges that Musk’s demeanor toward her changed significantly after the child’s birth, noting that he had previously expressed a desire to have many children via surrogacy. In addition to the ongoing custody battle, the conflict has expanded to include disputes over child support. St. Clair claims that after she rejected the a previously reported $40 million non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to protect her children’s dignity, Musk reduced her monthly payments from $100,000 to $40,000. New details emerged in the Alex Gibney documentary ‘Musk,’ where St. Clair alleges she was initially offered a $15 million lump sum and $100,000 in monthly support to keep the relationship and their son private. She stated she could not sign the agreement ‘in good conscience’ because she did not want her child to ‘feel like he’s a secret.’ St. Clair further claims that after she publicly revealed their son’s birth in February 2025, the monthly support was decreased again to $20,000. Elon Musk continues to deny these allegations via his platform, X, labeling the claims as false and characterizing the documentary covering the situation as a biased ‘hit piece.’ He has also criticized the filmmaker for featuring individuals he claims are seeking revenge.
