This follows the inauguration of a Rs 787-crore PepsiCo India food manufacturing facility in Nalbari, which is expected to create significant direct and indirect employment. The government reports that Assam has attracted approximately Rs 3 lakh crore in investments across sectors such as hydrocarbons, energy, and electronics, with the goal of reducing workforce dependence on employment outside the state.
