In early August 2026, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda joined a flood‑relief distribution organised by the NGO Global Sikhs in Sivasagar, Assam. He helped hand out rations and household items, served langar at a local Gurudwara and urged the public to contribute to the response to floods that had killed 82 people and displaced nearly 13,000 residents. A few days later, Hooda travelled to the Golaghat district, visiting Sarupothar village and continuing aid distribution in multiple flood‑hit districts, including Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Nagaon, where more than 178 000 178,000 people were stranded. His partner, actress Lin Laishram, was also highlighted for supporting relief, wildlife conservation and forest‑restoration projects, underscoring a broader use of celebrity platforms projects.
